Performers Wanted!


Are you in Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd or 3rd grade?  Do you want to learn how to act, sing, and dance?  Come join the Prairie View Performing Arts Club. Spaces are limited! Online application deadline is Jan. 8th.

We are excited to announce the spring session of the Prairie View Performing Arts Club.  This semester the Performing Arts Club will be learning how to perform and work together as a team, IN A MUSICAL – from auditions to rehearsals, staging to full performance.  ALL interested students must apply for the club (previous club members must reapply) 

Requirements for Participation

1. Students must submit an online Performing Arts Club Application stating why they feel they would be a good candidate for the club by midnight on Sunday, Jan 8th. Parents will be notified by Wednesday, Jan. 11th if their child is chosen.

2. Students will be required to attend ALL Monday and Wednesday rehearsals beginning Jan. 16th through May 23rd, Fri. Feb. 24th (since there is no school on Monday that week) AND the mandatory final dress rehearsal on Sat., May 20th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in its entirety (Students may not perform if they do not attend the dress rehearsal). Their performance will be on Tues., May 23rd at 6:30 p.m.  There may be additional rehearsals added during May that will be essential for the performance.  Each applicant will be required to submit all conflicts, including other clubs and activities, on their application to help us plan for these rehearsals.  Two or more unexcused absences may result in dismissal from the club – attendance is very important both for the individual student as well as the entire group.  Please schedule regular appointments another time and save absences for illnesses or emergencies.  All conflicts must be communicated to Mrs. Nassiff, including illness, or they will be considered unexcused.

3. Pay a $35 fee to help cover the cost of supplies, including show rights, sets, and props.  Parents will be asked to help supply their child’s costumes – we do our best to keep requirements simple and borrow, when possible.  Sibling fee will be an additional $15 each.

4. Students must be on their best behavior at all rehearsals and performances.  Two written notices of behavior issues may result in the child’s dismissal from the club.

5. We are in need of one parent/guardian of each club member to commit to at least 2 hours of volunteering during the spring semester. We need your help to make our spring performance a success!  This could be helping make or find props, sets, costumes, or helping to organize any of those items. Some of these could be done at home.

6. No prior experience is needed to participate in the Performing Arts Club. The purpose of the club is to allow students to learn various types of performance skills while participating in the activities.

Tuesday, May 23rd @ 6:30 p.m.-Evening Performance

Cost:  $35 for t-shirt, props, set, show rights, etc. (additional $15 for each sibling)
