Traffic Patterns

Bus Riders

  • Children riding the bus will be identified with a colored wrist band that corresponds with the bus the child will be riding.  Bus riders will receive the wrist band the first day of school.

  • Parents are not allowed to park in the bus area or north parking lot during the designated student drop-off or release times.  This will be between 7:15-8:00 a.m and 2:15-3:00 p.m.  Cars will NOT be permitted to exit the bus area or north parking during these times.

  • Children that ride the bus will be dismissed first.

  • No food or drinks are allowed on the bus at anytime.

Car Riders

  • Parents/guardians dropping-off and picking-up children will enter the parking lot through the SOUTH entrance.

  • Parents/guardians will turn into the south entrance of Prairie View and form a single line to drop off students in the morning.  In the afternoon there will be a single line in the parking lot to pick up your child up.

  • There will be six cars loaded at one time during pick-up.  We will NOT load students before the cross walk.  Once all six cars are loaded the next six will drive forward and the process will repeat.

  • For safety reasons, we are requesting that NO PARKING occur along FM 3433 north and south bound, in order to prevent walking between cars into oncoming traffic.

  • You will be given a sign to put in your car stating your name, childs name, and teacher.  Please have these filled out for the first day of school. Extra signs can be picked up in the front office.

Notification for Changes in Childs Normal Transportation Procedures

If there is a change in the normal procedure for your child to be picked-up, please notify the school by sending a note to the childs teacher AND by calling the school before 2:00 p.m.  A person picking up your child must be listed on the childs demographic card as a person your child can be released to.  Identification will be required.

It is imperative to communicate the procedures in order to provide a safe arrival and dismissal for our students.  For this to be successful, we need your full cooperation. We understand that these procedures may cause some inconvenience for some.  However, we will not sacrifice safety for convenience.  Our students safety is very important to us!  We welcome volunteers, especially to help during the first couple weeks.  If you are interested in volunteering during the school day, please contact Lisa Reid at 817-215-0551.
